How to use the input volume on speaker?

I have the Argon Audio Fenris A55 standing speakers, they are active/powered. On the back panel there is a input volume knob. The only device connected to the speaker is my turntable, it’s on the phono input. How to use this knob? Do I need to set it at the minus or plus side? Almost...

Buz/hum active speaker with new turntable

Tried something; On the back of the active speaker is a volume knob. It was at 8 o’clock. When I raise the volume with the remote control, I could go 3 presses up before the buzz is becoming hearable. I turned the knob on the back of the speaker on 12 o’clock, the buz becomes hearable after 7...

Buz/hum active speaker with new turntable

I’ll try that. But is it possible to hear the buz when the turntable is off, like it is now?

Buz/hum active speaker with new turntable

The left speaker, where the amplifier is in, is about 20cm’s away from the TT. The right speaker is about 1 meter away.

Buz/hum active speaker with new turntable

This afternoon I installed my new turntable, a Thorens TD 403 DD. My active speakers are the floor-standing Argon Audio Fenris A55. The speakers have a built-in amplifier; the turntable is connected to the Phono input via an RCA cable. If the turntable is off and I only have the speakers on, I...

New Thorens TD 403 DD ; Little bit too slow

Thanks. But I don't like the looks of a Technics. I know the technology is the best. I think it was in my mind. Just tested again with the RPM app on my iPhone and again it was a nice steady 33.3 speed. So I think it's ok. I'm just too much OCD when it comes to expensive tech :).

New Thorens TD 403 DD ; Little bit too slow

Thanks, Bill. I just did a test with the RPM app, put my iPhone 17 Pro on the platter, spin the platter and it was a consistent 33 1/3 RPM. So I think it's ok. Just tried another record of Phil Collins and it seems ok. The Thorens should be fine and the difference (slightly) should be within...

New Thorens TD 403 DD ; Little bit too slow

Just bought a new Thorens TD 403 DD, direct drive. Setup was very easy and now I'm playing my first record on it. The table seems a bit too slow. I compared to streaming the same song on Apple Music (Sweet child of mine). The song on the record, at the end, is about 1 second slow. Is there...

Argon TT4 out, Thorens TD403DD in (?) Please, help!

I have already posted a few messages here about my Argon Audio TT4 mk2. I am simply not entirely satisfied with this turntable, which is actually quite pricey. The first one had a crackle in the cue lever, the new unit has a couple of small chips out of the wood... Just not nice, and the second...

How much weight can I put on the platter?

A real beginner's question, and I don't want to do anything wrong, of course. I have an Argon Audio TT4mk2. After setup, I'd also like to check the wow/flutter with the RPM app on my iPhone. Now the question is: I assume I can simply place this total weight on the turntable without causing...

Question Static electricity? Crackling sound when raising lever after playing record

I went to the store today and changed the TT for a new one. The employee helped me install the plate, setup the cartridge and I went home; no crackling noise when moving the lever. In the store they told me they never heard another costumer about this 'problem'. Now I hope this TT will not...

Question Static electricity? Crackling sound when raising lever after playing record

Around 1200 for this model. Is it a lot better than my Argon?

Question Static electricity? Crackling sound when raising lever after playing record

I hope not. I did send another video to the store earlier this week and they told me they don’t know what it is. Tested it in the store they told me the other player don’t do this. So there is hope. I’m also looking to buy another TT, maybe the Thorens TD 403 DD. You think it’s on the same...
