Yea sure, but can a CHEAP headphone usb amp give you more clarity? I mean it may be a little bit better than your built in card, but I have heard many of them and they all just seem to give extra volume :/

Those phone amps can only provide you with more volume and not more clarity, yes some may distinguish bass more but then again thats changing the original sound, a modern DAC (like the ones used in hifi) are not really necessary (and are quite useless) when you use your phone or your computer...

I believe the Pro-ject Phono Box has some incredible value for money, it is a little bit more that your suggested 50$ but then again you are using a very decent turntable, if you upgrade your speakers you wont need to worry about having a very cheap and less reliable preamp.

I am also a classical music collector and I have an ever expanding library of vinyl records that either havent been converted to CD or the remastering for CD standars is poor.

I mean not really, but I want to rip some good vinyl quality and place it on a CD to gift to my uncle and what-not ... But anyways I just want to be able to convert vinyl (and also maybe some radio off my amplifier through the Tape REC output)
