Wharfdale 12.2 or Triangle Bro4 Speakers?

I haven't heard the Triangle BR04, but the BR03 is fantastic, and also a good fit for your room size and amp. The BR04 and Denton's are nearly double the price of the Diamonds, do you have a budget in mind? Most importantly, speakers will sound different in different rooms, and everybody...

My advice is limited by the fact I haven't heard any of the speakers you mention. However, the two things to remember is the room is as important as the speakers when it comes to how they sound. And, getting the positioning of the speakers correct can make a massive difference to how they...

Side By Side Comparison Naim v Lyngdorf

I find its better going into an audition without knowing too much about other peoples opinions. If you are expecting a characteristic you will be listening for it to the detriment to the whole experience. You will tell yourself that you won't but your subconscious will win out, remember the...

    New Streaming Amplifier

You have me at a disadvantage as I haven't heard the WiiM Amp Ultra. I have heard a The Audilab in competition with the WiiM Amp Pro, and it was better, clearer, crisper sound with more presence and a better soundstage. At £399 it looks like a bargain to me. You may be correct about the Ultra.

    New Streaming Amplifier

The Audiolab is a bargain at the moment. If you were starting off from scratch I would recommend it over all the others you mention. It will be better than you have but not night and day different.

Upgrade my HiFi, looking for suggestion

You really need to audition speakers to see how they sound in your room, and to your ears. You may be pushing it a little with those speakers in your room, manufacturers guidelines suggest the loudspeakers should be positioned approximately 1.8 to 3 m apart, a minimum of 91cm from the side...

Question Is WiiM still the answer?

I still have Mission 701. They are in my bedroom, A little larger than I would like but they are so forgiving in where you place them. Great speakers, and I only paid £59 for them from Richer Sounds when they were discontinued.

Question Is WiiM still the answer?

The idea is to avoid an external DAC, he doesn't want the extra complication, and more importantly, I don't think his wife wants the extra wires. I was working on the principle the Pro and Pro Plus have better DACS than the Mini. I have a Mini with an External DAC.

    Question .y proposed HiFi

Both great speakers. You need to listen to them to see which you prefer. Ideally at home as your room with have the largest impact on the sound. Even when you have chosen them, take some time to play with positioning. It can make a massive difference to sound.

How do you listen to your TV?

When I was a student in the 90's I had a little portable TCV with a single speaker on top. I used the RCA from my VCR to connect to my HiFi. I continued to do the same until I got my first digital TV. I was devastated to learn there was no RCA out. I went out to buy a DAC and came home with...

Question Is WiiM still the answer?

What is the best streamer for under £250? A friend has asked my advice on a budget streamer. He has a decent but dated system: Tag McLaren F3 (which I understand to be essentially am Audiolab 8000A from the '90s) and a B&W speakers, the ones with the tweeter on the funny looking 45° sloping...
