You can certainly hide channels - I have done it for all the shopping channels etc. I will have a look when I get home and note down what I did to achieve it and post it up later.
Sorry, should have added to click on the 'Firmware' tab once you go to the link.
You can always try and update the software through the box ( see page 59 of manual) rather than using the USB route outlined in that link.
Big Aura,
no recordings will be lost. To remove channels you don't want to appear see page 37 of the manual.
It also seems that there is a new and long awaited firmware update (V6.0.376) for this box which, hopefully, will mean this 'disappearing library' bug...
This is a common bug with this machine. Some machines seem to suffer it more than others. I have had it once since I got the box in Feb this year.
You need to do a factory reset. This will wipe any planned recordings so make a note of any before you do it. If you have edited your channels...

If you fulfilled your contract then that box belongs to you and you should get it back.
I am cancelling SKY for FreeSat in a month or so. SKY called me to ask if I was happy with their service. When I said I'd soon be leaving they asked what I was going to do with my SKY + HD box. I said...
I have the Panny SC-BT230 - very happy with it - small. sleek, good sound for an all-in-one and you can get it for around £200. Works particularly well if you have a Panny TV.
I have had both the 200 and the 230. The 230 is by far the better set up. Smaller, sleeker and boots up much faster. The 230 sub-woofer is quite a bit smaller than the 200 sub woofer but still pumps out enough bass for most users. Hope this helps. Any other questions on these two units?
Thanks to all. Just made my Panasonic SC-BT230 multi regional with a remote from ebay. We'll see if it stays that way after the next firmware update.
By the way, delighted with the BT230 - much, much better than its predessor the BT200.
