Just to say after changing pre amp, power amp, cdp and finally the dac I have discovered were the sibilance was coming from....the Dac.
I now have a chord hugo. To my ears, vocals are full of detail and are far more life-like. I am realy enjoying my favorite singers again!
I have had a pair of Venere 2.5 speakers for a few months now and have so say I love the sound. They are linked up to Cyrus x power amps and Dac xp+. The base is deep and tonal and treble is clean and the whole sound is airy and involing. My room has a wooden floor so I have put the speakers on...
:dance: thanks again for all the input.. I have also been listening to 'ladies of the canyon' again, with the volume raised the speakers turned in and sitting in prime position, and it sounded fantastic! at this volume the sibilance was a lot less aparent (or gone compleatly) to my ears...anyway...
thanks again for the ideas. I do like the cyrus sound so I will keep the kit for now. will change the speaker cable and may be the interconnector. it might seem decadent but i may get a valve bassed cdp for my cds with vocals. i think its odd that leading artists should be making inferior...
hi chebby, i have already taken the cds to my local dealer played them in audiolab 8200 and cyrus cd8se. the sibilance was still there. I have bought new copys of the cds (kd lang -49th parallel and joni mitchells - ladie of the canyon), still the same problem, to my ears. plenty of my other...
:doh: hi, many of my cds with female vocals have a slight distortion on the very high frequencys. i would like to smooth this distortion away if poss. the cdp is a cyrus cd6se, amp 6xp, wireworld oasis 6 interconecter. I have tried differant interconetors without any real high frequency change...
