Must have Blu-ray DVD to test new TV and impress

Dark Knight is the obvious one that everyone's mentioned. Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is an outstanding transfer and well worth it for the bright colours and to show how well motion is dealt with and the final battle scenes are good for showing off a punchy subwoofer. Watchmen is...

So you have just won £45M on Euromillions.....

Think I'd have to take a look at the full list of what this guy had installed and then maybe have another one at the other end of the house so I wouldn't have to walk too far to watch a movie or the news. http://digg.com/movies/Most_expensive_home_theater_ever Oh, and my local supermarket has...

I need an Amp with two HDMI outputs.

Why not use an HDMI splitter with selectable outputs and whatever receiver you're currently running? That would definitely be a cheaper way of getting signal to two display devices.

CD/Amp Combination - Help With Audition List

One Off - The more I take a look at the Peachtree you recommended, the more I like it. If you were giving it a rating out of 5, what would you say? Anybody else tried the Peachtree Nova?

CD/Amp Combination - Help With Audition List

I've got a load of AC/DC but I can't consider them Australian as their singer and both guitarists were born in the UK. As far as the Jason Donovan poster, the wife made me throw it out but I still have the Dame Edna tea towels.

So was I. I do have a Kylie track or two

CD/Amp Combination - Help With Audition List

Darren Heal - The equipment may be in Aus but there's only a bit of Midnight Oil and Men At Work in my collection that's authentic Aussie. Okay, a couple of Judith Durham tracks (but if you want to hear "a great voice without all the studio tricks and then a very careful mastering to make it...

CD/Amp Combination - Help With Audition List

one off - I usually try to keep away from valves and I'm not too sure about how the pseudo-retro wood will fit in with the rest of the kit but there's one in a local dealer so I'll add it in. Big Air - I've heard good things about Simaudio's Moon stuff but they're pricey here (about $2500 each...

CD/Amp Combination - Help With Audition List

I'm putting together a short list for potential additions to my new home theatre/listening room and am after any suggestions. There are, however, a few key criteria to meet (aren't there always?). 1. The amp must be able to provide a bypass of the volume control (unity gain/HT bypass) as it...

Setting up new home cinema room

I can't comment on how well the MAs would match with the receiver but I would ask if you really want to have a 7.1 set up. There are so few disks around that have that support more than 5.1 and the extra speakers could always be added at a later stage if the 7.1 format becomes more popular...

    Calling all Denon AVR2310 owners......

I can't lay claim to an AVR-2310 but I've had this same issue with my Harman Kardon AVR-255. I found that this was caused by the "meh" quality HDMI cable that I was using to connect the Australian version of a Sky HD+ box to my LCD. It would inexplicably cut out at random intervals. I tried...

Combining 5.1 theatre and stereo audio

Sorry... should perhaps look a little closer at the back panel connections. Thought that seemed a little odd to have no pre-outs. I'm thinking the Uniti as the streaming is great (especially as I've got a considerable library of Apple Lossless encoded files for when I feel lazy) and I'm...

Combining 5.1 theatre and stereo audio

I was worried that might be the case with using bi-wierable terminals. I can't see any pre-outs (except for a zone 2 stereo pair) on the back of the AVR-2310. Would I be able to use these or would I be better off looking elsewhere, receiver-wise? I'm guessing that I'd need to have the stereo...

Combining 5.1 theatre and stereo audio

I'll be building a new house next year and installing a dedicated home theatre/listening room. The dimensions of this will be about 3.4m wide x 4.3m deep. Most of the things I'm considering I've already got ideas for: Visual - Panasonic PT-AE3000 projector, ~90" screen, BluRay (Sony BDPS-760...
