Would a HiFi setup sound better than a home cinema setup for music?

I always imagined that speakers were like musical instruments, so the argument is can you tell the difference between a £500 one to a £5000 one.

The Cable Conundrum. Are We Really Hearing The Difference ?

Hey, in my opinion cables have very little impact on the sound, but I buy quality cables so I have an expectation that it will sound good. My PC on the other hand is a nightmare, bad gear can have bad effects on sound quality. For example messing with manual fan curves in my PC destroys any...

Separate Crystalline Clock Boxes, do the Noughts and Ones add up?

Its all about the mastering. The over use of loudness sounds weird to me. Rather than any issue with Hifi 'Pitch'. I hope it helps because you get everything as right as possible with Hifi and it still sucks.

Question What's your next HiFi purchase?

    Nostalgia strikes....

I reckon the Hi Fi business is a slow one hence the sky high prices. If everyone were to renew there amplifier's DAC's and speakers every year it would lower the prices, but because we do not upgrade for 5, 10, or even 30 years, they need a good return to stay profitable?

    Castle severn2s

As your getting excellent sound quality, try moving the speakers close to the walls. This will help bass response. However, the downside. The bass can become muddy or boomy, sacrificing clarity. Good luck. (y)

The CS947 Tacima 6 Way Mains Conditioner

After purchasing one from Richer Sounds for £44.95, I must say it’s a well-constructed extension strip. I particularly appreciate the visible PCB through the plastic window, and the MOVs are impressively large, which is reassuring. The CS947 is designed to extend the lifespan of my equipment by...

Hi-fi recommendations for house parties and home listening

You could do worse than the Dynaudio Emit M30 speakers. 200 watts 4 Ohm speakers that go very loud without distortion. You might be able to find them for around £800 but beware you need a meaty amplifier to power them.

    all about the bass

I think you would need professional speakers like the ones you get in clubs to feel the bass.
