Robert Redford. Always a very watchable actor and a promoter of independent film.

    Is DAB dead?

Proton is a decent choice. Usually you can get a decent discount of you are willing to pay for 2 years upfront, from most of these services.

    Is DAB dead?

Warner and Sony sued TuneIn in 2017 because they claimed TuneIn was in fact a defacto broadcaster and liable to pay licence fees to them. The UK courts agreed and also on appeal, so TuneIn and other such providers stopped non-UK stations from being "broadcast" via their platforms. TuneIn has...

    Is DAB dead?

It is a shame the record labels crippled internet radio in the UK. Unless of course you use a VPN. Who'd have thunk that you can so easily get round such parochial restrictions! (You do have to be careful which VPN supplier you use, though.)

    Question Which UK-made speakers?

The Dunlop brothers (SystemDek) produce ART speakers in Troon. I must have walked by the place last year, without realising. Price way beyond the capacity of my pocket, though.

    Impossible Task? One Box

The Eversolo units design choice of having the cd drawer open at the side is a bit odd! Fine if it is on an open surface, but I suspect most people would want to use the space next to it to store e.g. CDs. I do, for one.

    Impossible Task? One Box

I have the Pro-Ject CD E. It sounds good and looks well built. However, I find the mechanism to be an abomination. Often it takes me more than one go to load a CD. When it fails to load a CD, I have to power off and power back on whereby it offers me a small edge to grab hold of the CD.

Question Will Hi-Fi Disappear Within a Generation?

Things change! Shellac and reel-to-reel died and cassettes are pretty much dead. None of them are really missed. Same can be said of VHS. The DVD/Blu-ray market is waning. Newspapers and magazines don't sell in anything like the quantities they used to. Cinema attendance is about half what it...

    Surprisingly disappointing

Sounds to me as though @Cricketbat70 is happy enough with the old Denon amp, in the environment being used. Why replace it? I'd just get a little Wiim Mini and do away with Bluetooth. I'm guessing that sound presentation in a warehouse is of less criticality, hence the Mini.

Who's your favourite Star Trek Captain?

I tend to rewatch stuff when in the Kitchen. It needs to be a program I m familiar with so I don't get too distracted and burn stuff! At the moment I am working my way through DS9. It does carry quite a few threads, so the story lines can vary without seeming too random and disconnected.

    Room 101

It is annoying when they open up a new checkout at the supermarket and people behind you rush to be first. Noticeably, it is often older people are the worst behaved.

    Question Budget setup upgrade suggestions?

Given you listen to vinyl, I'd start by replacing the cartridge with something like an AT95ML. If you are happy with the Dual, then keep it. The 1219 is a bit of a classic. A cartridge upgrade will be a better investment than replacing the turntable, at least for now. Replacing the AV amp with...

    Old Hifi

I ordered my music centre, above, from a catalogue through a friend of my Mother's. One of those please wait 28 days to be delivered to someone else's house, sort of thing. When I got it and opened the box imagine my how I felt to find the needle was at a 45 degree horizontal axis to the...
