Personally, I find Tidal to be extremely detailed but a little 'bright' sounding when compared to Qobuz which I reckon sounds 'richer'. Don't know why this would be.

Thanks for the heads up, mrob. I've knocked the N130 idea on the head, now. I don't really rate the DAC in my original Bluesound - Not surprised to hear you say that the DAC in the N130 is so-so.

Good job I didn't buy the Audiolab just for the MQA handling 🙂 It was a bonus rather than a necessity. Pity, though.

Haven't gotten around to trying my iPhone as yet - Haven't had any spare time and don't have the correct cable. But, as mentioned, all is well (regarding MQA playback) with a laptop plugged into the Audiolab.

Finally got round to connecting a laptop to the Audiolab via USB B 2.0. I had to download some drivers onto the laptop before connecting. So, I can play Tidal MQA, via the Tidal app, through the Audiolab 8300cdq and then on to my Acoustic Energy AE1s. The Audiolab displays the bitrate and...

The Bluesound Node N130 has this…. I think 🤔

I note that Amazon carry the Node N130, so I could take advantage of the 30 day return policy, I suppose. I could do a side by side comparison between the N130 and my Node 2 (original version).
