    RIP Flash Player for mobiles

Although if your phone does have flash it will see the upgrades. It will only be hidden from new/JB phones or something or other. Basically alot of phones will still have working flash.

Hifi streamer vs playing from Mac into DAC

Always been happier with no moving parts. No fans, no hard drives. Always been happier with low power systems. No 750 watt GPU laden PC. Always been happier with the DAC controlling the clock. You can still have electrical noise, airborn interferance, power supply polution and jitter from a...

    Audiolab 8200cdq connection to Xpower/psx-r using xlr-to-phono

I see no reason how it could remove the hiss. Any benefit of XLRs are removed and you are just adding more complexity within the 8200 with no benefit. Cyrus recommend not using XLRs with their kit unless for very long runs. That said there is nothing wrong with borrowing some cable from your...

Playing FLAC files on hifi DAC vs. home cinema DAC

The specs say it has a 32 bit dac. It isn't that important though. Dac chips are cheap. It is the implementation and surrounding electronics that matter.

    Audiolab M-DAC or 8200DQ or MF M1DAC and M1HPA

Enjoying the M-DAC straight into a power amp using XLRs. Found it too much at first. It bit back alot with music, the detail was too much and hurt when played loud. Sensitive to HF too. A month or two in and it just sounds nothing but smooth and clear. On the pink fish media forum the designer...

    DAC Variances

No, idea. They would have to get alot right. But as I don't have as high an opinion of the £400-£500 dacs as some on here. If they did get alot right. When they start appearing on the second hand market I will definitely be having a demo.

What Speaker Stands for Spendor SA1?

This is the best thread I have ever read. I never went any further than to try to engineer stands as heavy and solid as possible. To try to make the design stage simple and bend what was really happening so that I could lump them together as part of the concrete and brick room. Trying to...

It seems non-audiophiles never tire of proving that everything sounds the same.

So it is true then  There was a link to a trial with cables a while back. Of the 20 odd people that tested the same cables 3 or 4 posted proudly that they had correctly guessed. It looked like people could do it. Did it mean anything? Of course it didn't as the others couldn't and they...

No. You are getting better are the tests because you are practicing the tests. You are training yourself at tests. Not the same thing by a long way. If you concentrate on one thing there is if anything an increased likelyhood that you are not concentrating on the rest. If anything you are likely...

Completely untrue. Different opinions yes. Ideas focusing on improving different areas yes. The building blocks are all the same however. Also engineers are notoriously unconvincing. They tend not to have the gift of the gab. Cable makers and hi fi salesmen on the other hand.

Glitch in the stock email client Galaxy S2

Yes never noticed before. Try holding down the delete key so it goes into "word delete mode" rather than quick pressing delete. Had no problem deleting words then.

Chrome Now Available On Android [ICS Only]

Adobe doesn't actually have to develop flash for it to continue to work for its future popular lifespan. It weird how almost all youtube videos show android phones being used with one hand: Damn reality getting in the way of idiotic drivel again... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEPJlwlxqY4...

Samsung Galaxy S2 - Sound Output

HDMI output is possible. Then the quality would depend more on the DAC. I don't think there are other digital out options at the moment.

iPhone 4S vs Samsung Galaxy S2 drop test

I cannot work out how you have come to the conclusion the S2 requires the use of both thumbs. It simply doesn’t. Hold the phone upright in the fingers, the thumb palm combination has more than enough reach. A top opposite corner requires more movement than common gestures (it requires movement...

Is the Roksan Caspian m2 work the extra money over the kandy k2

I prefer the sound of the Caspian, but that is both a combination of preferred type of sound produced and improved quality of the Kandy. It is only down to both factors that pushes me to think it is worth it. If it was only improved quality and I didn’t prefer the type of sound then no I don’t...
