My HiFi - 30 years (ish) and counting…

My unused sub has finally been used! About 25 years ago a work colleague who was upgrading? (well in his mind any way) to a Bose LS25 sold me his little Paradigm subwoofer (RS special). I brought it home set it up, found a nice film scene to test it. Star Trek Insurrection, when they eject and...

    Your Song/Track of the Day

After watching the live action remake of How to Train You Dragon, I've got to post this Test Drive from the original 2010 film. The tune has been slightly altered in the new film, I prefer the original tune. The new film is awesome by the way. View: https://youtu.be/IpPIK4T068s?si=TI4gRv2164odOygu

What are your thoughts on Synthesizers and music created by Synthesizers.

Oh and I forgot to say I'm rediscovering Gary Numan's early stuff. I was 9 years old when things like Are Friends Electric and Cars were released back then I didn't listen to any albums. I'm now slowly going through all his early albums.

What are your thoughts on Synthesizers and music created by Synthesizers.

I have all of Jean Michel Jarre's albums upto the early 1990’s Zoolook from 1986 being my favourite. I also have a few of his newer albums. Gary Numan also heavily synthesized based. One of my favourites by Gary is Savage(Songs From a Broken World) six years old that album now.

Returning to CD's and changing taste in music

I still play and buy CD's. Streaming at work, in the car (no CD player) and in bed at night to help me sleep. In the evening and at weekend CD listening.

    What are you watching?

I have to admit I haven't watched a full episode since the 1980’s. I don't remember the fifth housemate.

    Go Back to CD?

It's taking me longer than I wanted but that's what I'm doing. Started years ago but just never seem to have the time to get it finished. Then I stream to CCA, Denon RCD-N7. Or at night in bed stream to my phone via Bubble UPnP.

    What are you watching?

I've played the train scene and the hand grenade scene from the university challenge episode to my kids and they just didn't get it🤣. I frequently WhatsApp the "bored bored bored" clip where Vivian hits Rick over the head with the cricket bat, to my family when it's a slow day at work.

Use of switch and galvanic isolation between router and streamer.

You know I don't think I've ever got through a full Linus video. His voice is so annoying 🤣
