I've said it before. I bought their first album when it was released have attempted to listen to it three times and just can't get all the way through it, just irritating noise.

    Bluesound Icon or Eversolo A6

Sounds like the way they treat the place I work, an independent retailer, Sony trade prices are awful compared to the big name stores. When my kids were at primary school I ordered them each a Sony MP3 player, while the Sony rep was in and our boss was putting a big trade show order on. The...

Yeah can't see anyone arguing with a train 🤣 Although how I'm still alive is beyond me. Back in the early 80's when I was at secondary school I got off the bus one day, saw one of my mates walking up the foot path towards school. I ran after him opened the gate at one side of the railway...

    Old Hifi

Barry's had locking screws for the turntable suspension too and the wood side panels went above the receiver section so the lid over the turntable only consisted of a top and front panel. Just wish I could remember the make.

When it comes to cyclists I'm pretty patient but my wife had an interaction with one and honestly it made my blood boil when she told me. So when we were allowed to do a bit of outdoor exercising during covid, Rach and a friend reinstated their walk along the canal towpath. One day a bloke on a...

    Old Hifi

I don't know how old my mum's partners was but it didn't come with built in cassette deck, like I said he had a top loading Akai cassette deck connected via RCA. The turntable also had a second arm opposite the tone arm with a small stiff bristle brush and soft roller behind the brush to clean...

    Old Hifi

@peter98 recent post about music inherited from your parents has included a few posts about old radiograms. It got me thinking about how I got into hifi. My mum's partner had a 1970’s all in one receiver turntable combo ( I think the proper name is music system) similar to the one pictured but I...

Question Your Dad’s Favourite Album – Still With You?

I inherited all my dad's record collection but the ones the remind me most of my dad and definitely his favourite are all his Duane Eddy albums. I have tried to play a few but late 1950’s to 1960’s vinyl is so crackly and my dad looked after his stuff. I tend to listen to Duane Eddy on Spotify...

So called loyalty benefits. Email from Specsavers this week, "Just a reminder your golden ticket will soon be running out, get £50 off a new pair of glasses". So just a few months ago I spent £££s on new varifocals and you want me to spend £££s more on another pair just to get £50 off. Yeah...

The child in me laughed too much at that bit.

    Question What Format ?

Another job I never seem to get round to completing. I have about half of my CD collection ripped to my NAS

    Question What Format ?

I'll listen to my vinyl more when I finally get round to fixing a shelf to my wall. My Rega is currently on a hi-fi stand and springy wooden floors and turntables don't play well together.
