That's horrible. My local branch of Santander were brilliant. When my father in law was seriously ill, we went into the bank with him got Rachel signed onto his bank account so she could deal with everything. When he died they were fantastic. TV licensing on the other hand the biggest bunch of...

Rant time. I watched the second episode of Channel 4's Britain's Favourite Railway Stations, on catch up last night. The way Siddy Holloway pronounced Keighley had me shouting at the TV "do some research Channel 4" for someone who has lived 15 miles from Keighley all 55 years of my life, that...

    Earworms and our random brains.

This was the earworm stuck in my head the other day. Gareth Emery and Annabel's version of Country Roads, Gareth ended his Brixton show with this song back in September last year. As some of you may be aware from previous posts I was there. My first time in London in over 25 years my first time...

Question Put a sock in it

The speakers in my son's system are in the worst possible position. Rear ported TDL on little wooden brackets I made, fastened to the pillars in the cellar that support the chimney breast. The rear ports are about a centimetre away from the wall. I'd like to replace them with front ported...

I've found something Chrome ai is useful for.

At work we book goods into stock by first scanning the EAN barcode for a product then scanning each individual serial number barcode. Occasionally a product arrives without an EAN code and we have to search for it on the internet. Then use the scanners keyboard and type it in. This can be...

    What are you watching?

Dang it. I hate my phone. No indication that it had posted and was still there with the "post" button two hours later. 🤦‍♂️

    What are you watching?

Late to the party but last week I found out, that after channel 4 stopped Time Team. It's continued on You Tube not just repeats but new digs, part funded by patreon members. Rach and I have been watching them.

🤣🤣🤣 That is exactly what my nan used to do. I mean she was in the WRAF in the war, lived through rationing, make do and mend etc. She was very thrifty so reused the wrapping paper her presents came in.

General Consensus On Subs In HiFi

I've never been keen on the idea of a sub in a stereo system. I've always thought for me personally the base produced by my speakers was enough and I've heard subs in stereo systems where I thought the bass was overblown. Probably a set up issue. I've mentioned this before in another thread...

    Earworms and our random brains.

This morning's earworm. Condemnation by Depeche Mode. That I can understand, I was listening to Depeche Mode a few nights ago.

    Hi Fi Dealers in 2026

I've mentioned this before. I live in a town of about 11000 population, my employer used to sell hifi in their shops. Four shops within a ten mile radius. On top of that there were at least three other shops selling hi-fi within that same radius. My employer stopped selling hifi separates 20...

    Weak Passwords.

I use biometrics on most of mine and 2 part authentication. The accounts I use passwords for are not major.

    Yeah sorry😂😂😂

    Weak Passwords.

I appreciate that I'm not asking for passwords. My laptop never leaves the house and to be fair it's only the start up password that I could disable. The password I posted is for a defunct account and I've not reused that password for any other accounts.
