When my eldest son (31) was a baby still crawling around. He pulled himself up on the veg rack and took a sprout and ate it raw. Didn't screw his face up at the taste just ate it. His nappy was an interesting shade of green a few hours later 🤣

    What a brilliant evening

Well I've just got back from a fantastic concert at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. Tubular Bells. The concert starts with a few tracks from Tubular Bells 2 & 3, the second half of the concert is the entire first Tubular Bells. I loved it but the reaction of my twin son and daughter (28...

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Rachel insists she hasn't cleaned my turntable. Maybe the cartridge is that old it's just fallen apart.

    I've failed as a parent

She's not a youngster. She's always used my hifi with CD's just never used the turntable and knowing how delicate they are she didn't want to do it. 🤣

The drive belt, bearings were sorted when I had it repaired tone arm was rewired too. . I've played a lot of records on it since it was repaired. Just not played any for a few months, came to play my daughter's single and the stylus was just hanging straight down. Maybe it committed suicide...

Yeah I looked at the tone arms on eBay this morning. I also found when I searched them on the internet they have a bit of an issue with the anti skating, it's controlled by a toothed belt that deteriorate with age and there are no spare parts. Another issue that made me wonder whether I should...

The last time I bought a cartridge for my Dual in the early 2000’s I spent around £60 on an audio Technica. With 20+ years of inflation I know half decent cartridges are going to be £200+ but my budget is only around £100

Thank you. I also found out today that the tone arm on my rega was discontinued in 1983. So my rega is definitely late 70’s not late 80’s early 90's as I've always thought. Now wondering whether to get my Dual turntable that I bought in 1992 repaired instead.

Yesterday I went to play a record on my late 80's (I think) rega only to find the stylus hanging down at a strange angle, I tried to push it back in. The current cartridge is a Goldring 900SE-2 which Google says was made in 1978, my turntable maybe older than I thought. I was given it 20+ years...

    I've failed as a parent

The fact my daughter is a swifty is not the problem, she even went to one of the Liverpool dates of the Eras Tour. It's the fact I feel she's bought this single because it's trendy vinyl. If she plays it I won't be bothered. Although here in lies a fresh problem. It arrived yesterday and she...

Yep driving everyone nuts I think. My daughter was watching an event on BBC2. They switched to curling again and said if you want to catch-up with the other event go to iPlayer. My daughter naturally expecting further coverage of the event got iPlayer up only to watch everything she'd already...

I stupidly bought Oasis first album when it was released early 90's. I've yet to listen to the full album. I've tried three times but after a couple of songs it's so irritating.
