    Neat Petite Classic

They look really ugly though. I'm sure there are some who don't care but Kef have gotten to where they are by producing great looking kit as well as great sounding kit. There's no way a speaker that looks like this should get 5 stars.

Whatever happened to the budget stereo amplifier market?

I don't mean to be rude but the author and other readers seem to be out of touch with the market. You only have to watch cheap audio man on YouTube to realise that the budget amp market is thriving. You have the WiiM Amp but also loads of other brands like Fosi Audio, Aiyima and then a step up...

JBL’s Xtreme 4 wireless speaker uses AI to boost sound quality

Hands up if you're already sick with the tech manufacturers talking about their use of AI in their? And were only in week 2 of 2024! Im actually less likely to buy something if they use the word AI because it shows that they don't have a clue what they're talking about. Why? Because they can't...

It has been a great year for small, affordable audio – long may it continue!

Nice! DYI. I never considered that you could do that. I actually had one of these nearly 20 years ago. For £50 you got the amp and a pair of fold out pyramid speakers. I ended up selling my £750 rotel amp and was driving my 4 way Morduant Short floor standers using this tiny plastic thing. I...

It has been a great year for small, affordable audio – long may it continue!

Hats off for writing an article like this because I know I've been quite negative towards you in some articles because of your lack of focus on the budget end. My view is that HiFi is similar to dining out but is a few years behind the trend in dining. The times when we aspired to eat out at...

Cambridge Audio has had a great year – and now I want it to revive a decade-old classic

I can't help but think Cambridge Audio, Bluesound, NAD, and even the really high end brands like Naim and Chord are going to struggle with WiiM taking the world by storm. In a few years I wonder how many people will still be falling for the snake oil?

I've heard over 150 products this year, and these are my 5 hi-fi highlights

So in other words, while many other review sites and publications look forward to the future, What HiFi are stuck firmly in the past?

How to choose the right music streamer

All of this is relevant if you want to throw away money. If you don't then your choice basically comes down to the WiiM Mini, WiiM Pro or WiiM Pro Plus. All three come in at a fraction of the cost of those listed in this article. In November the WiiM Amp probably becomes the best choice for most...

This superb streaming system has modern smarts and a suprisingly affordable price

A WiiM Pro Plus streamer and DAC plus the Fosi V3 amplifier would come in way under the Cambridge Audio on its own leaving the lions share for speakers or speakers and a sub. This would produce far better sound any day of the week.

2023 is not the year of next-generation OLEDs that I had hoped for (so far)

I appreciate an article from What HiFi where its not about how the next gen smashes the last gen.

Cambridge Audio MXN10 vs Bluesound Node: which budget music streamer is best?

What HiFi only recommend sponsoring manufacturers though. So the WiiM will never get a look in. Despite the fact that it definitely is the best budget streamer manufacturer. But you seem to have gone back up market for the DAC when SMSL or Topping might be a better "budget" choice?

We recently tested 15 DACs – and here are 6 we highly recommend

Can anyone actually tell the difference between a low to medium cost DAC (£100-300) (or a built in DAC in an amp) vs a high end DAC like the Chord? From what little I read, it would be extremely difficult to say that one is better than the other in a double blind test. What HiFi and other...

This is the same list as the 2022 list right? You've just reposted it.

Technics SA-C600 vs Marantz PM7000N: which is better?

Neither is the best. The Bluesound Powernode N330 is.

We tested 20+ compact hi-fi systems – and these are the 5 we'd most recommend

It's great that you do these articles but you need to watch sweeping statements that you cannot verify to be true. The Triangle AIO Twin was you latest active speaker review and as far as I'm aware you haven't done comparative listening tests against the KEFs. So to say that you get sound...
