Hi have an older Yamaha (673) and a couple of generations old Samsung with Smarthub. To use the apps via ARC i have to wait for the TV to recognise the reciever first (either automatically or selected through tools) and then go into the smart hub. Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure that they will be ok, as long as there are no sharp changes. When people ship guitars they put them in cases and have a couple of bags of silica gel. Maybe worth putting in boxes with some large sachets of Silica (or something more effective?)
