Naim Unitiqute or DAC-V1 system choices

Well I would go for system A but you should note that the Q Acoustics Concept 20 are £350 new and not £245. They are stunning speakers. CJ

    Spotify choice.

What HiFi this month has a low down on all the music providers and compares both quality and choice - it is pretty comprehensive. Spotify comes out best on choice of music. CJ

    Oppo BDP-105 Darbee vs?

With the latest firmware update the orginal 105 will now stream DSD files too across a home network so you are not reliant on USB sticks We tested the Oppo against the Linn Majik DS purely as a stereo music streamer and preferred the Oppo. We bought the Oppo on that basis so all the Bluray, CD...

    Q Accoustics or Tannoys?

I would suggest the Concept 20 at £350 rather than the Concept 40. I could not hear a difference between them at the show and the Concept 20 is SO much cheaper. The Concept 40 is actually only a two way as the two larger drive units get the same signal. I think this explains the similarity. CJ

    Linn Klimax Exakt

Yes, the tech seems to bear more than a passing resemblance to that introduced by Meridian a long time ago. CJ

    Linn Klimax Exakt

Linn would argue that it is for digital music as the speaker should contain an Exact copy of the original digital music data. It is only in the speaker that this digital data is processed and converted to analogue. For an analogue source then the Linn statement is not true. CJ

    Linn Klimax Exakt

At the moment it is a digital transport/source switch called the Exakt DSM which then feeds a digital signal to the speaker which has built into it a digital receiver that digitally splits the signal for each speaker drive unit. Each of these signals is then converted by a separate DAC into an...

    UnitiLite and Bass Control

Try using Plugplayer app to stream music to your Marantz - it is much better and is what I use. CJ

Cambridge Audio 752BD Now on Richer Sounds site

I use the Plugplayer app to stream my flac music to the Oppo via its network connection. The Oppo automatically plays it (no nead to switch sources). Works a treat. Not gapless though if that is important to you. I have streamed mutlichannel flac too which work perfectly as well. CJ

Music Streaming - Any blu-ray players up to the job?

I use the Oppo 105 as my streamer. I use Plugplayer on my iPad to send it music from my server which runs Asset UPNP. Works wonderfully well. No need for the screen to be on as Plugplayer shows me what I am playing. The Oppo even has a 'Pure' mode for audio that turns off all the video...
