I've used bi-amping for years, first with Arcam alpha9 integrated and power amps, and then with an Arcam AV250 and now an Arcam AV400. The AV receivers have a setting for using the L+R rear channels ( 6&7) for bi-amping. Personally I think it opens up the sound, and I'd have 2 redundant amps...
