I have this issue too. Random mutes. Re-learning the remote introduces random volume increase. This seems like a serious design flaw. I am on my second DM50 with the same problem. I may have to return this one too.

I also bought a DM50 from Richer Sounds, worked perfectly for 3 months, now it behaves randomly, muting the audio or increasing the volume to max, when nothing is being pressed on any remote control. Canton suggested re-learning the TV remote, but it hasn't solved the problem. So this one will...
