PMC FB1i's are a great choice but will cost around £1100 - £1200 second hand.I would suggest Naim CD 5i and Nait 5 or Primare i20 and cd20.I haven't heard Roksan Candy CD and amp but know it is held in high regard on the forum.Good luck.

Russ Andrews sell Kimber installation cable in two sizes.I use the thicker Kwik 12 as my main speaker cable and it is excellent.The thinner Kwik 16 is £4 per metre and should suit ceiling speakers as well as being suitable fro the job.

Try a Van den Hul interconnect as a first option.If the Focul Sub has only one input rather than a left and right then a Y connector can be used.My Velodyne is connected by a mid priced interconnect and it does the job well.Not convinced cable difference is much with Subs so don't spend too much.

Before you throw it out ,check your interconnects.I had the same problem a few years ago and it turned out to be a broken interconnect at the plug but couldn't be seen.Either switch them round or try another pair to confirm they are okay.

Have a look for ex-dem Velodyne SPL Ultra subs.The built in dsp is brilliant and tailors the bass to your room.Haven't tried the 800 but my 1000 is excellent - fast ,tight and musical.

I run mine with a Primare A30.5 but auditioned them with the 2 channel equivalent.They sounded great with both - not surprisingly as the Primares have a monoblock for each channel.
