    Oil for Tangospinner Subplatter

High viscosity oils are fascinating..... ;-) https://www.dropbox.com/s/jok03x5yqk75o7j/2018-07-31%2010.12.59.mp4?dl=0

    Oil for Tangospinner Subplatter

Personally I use this stuff on spindles - it's a doped oil and works wonderfully with everything I've ever touched with it. (Again difficult to set up a real world side by side analysis of how good these things really are outside of a lab!)...

    I Need Help !!

"I guess it might help if the OP actually said how close his speakers actually are......" Agreed.... and re-visited this thread to let us know how hes getting on ! ;-) Ground hum tends to be constant and not overly loud - unless really cranked up, from what he's describing it sounds more like...

    I Need Help !!

On top of the amp is far from ideal without a good air gap and isolation. It's more likely to be feedback from the speakers. Does the hum increase to a loud moan as you increase the volume, then go away as you decrease the volume ? If so then yes, you need to isolate the speakers and move...

I notice the DDE-1 is no longer on the website.... still never worked out what it did for over £3K...... :-)

Left Channel Sound Pickup, Rega Cart

As mentioned, if it changes when prodded then something is loose somewhere ! Check inner tonearm cables where they crimp onto the back of the cart. You can also check the internal wiring of the cart with a multimeter / dvm. You should have a matching resistance over +L- and +R-, but should...

    Replacement needles

Have you ever tried profiling a diamond tip, then glueing it to a ruby cantilver and mounting it in a suspension unit ? It's fiddly at the best of times..... ;-) ;-)

    Okki Nokki - worth it?

The MK1 VC-S used a very hi-torque motor geared down - which was quite chattery ! The MK2 VC-S addressed this and a few other items fed back from customers. As per all other vacuum based machines the vacuum motor is noisy, so I normally sit there banging through a crate with a pair of...

    LP Gear T4P cartridges

Are we having a wager on this ? If so I'll take you up sir ! No reason why a well designed and engineered TT, no matter who makes it, can't outlive you or me. All TT including your much revered "Technics DD Quartz TT" will need a little help with parts that wear out over that timespan, as...

    St Vincent - Masseduction

Heh, yeah just googled that.... It seems to suggest that the 1st track is deliberatly fuzzy. I get the feeling they left the "Make it sound like crud fader" at 10 on the mixer desk after track 1 though !! :-)

    St Vincent - Masseduction

Stylus is clean, also everything else played before and after sounds spot on, TT is set up correctly, I'm hoping I know how to do this by now ;-) If I don't then I'd probably get the sack from my day job !! Do you have the album ? I also tried it on Roon via Tidal FLAC, and even that sounded...
