Just noted that the Blades have been updated to SAM soon (with some other the other speakers with 500+ votes gone!) Very exciting, Blades with SAM will be intersting. Although the way things have been going for me recently, either SAM will cause my ceiling to collapse, the Blades to explode...

An update on my 24bit 192khz issue. After some research and fine tuning the settings, everthing appears to work. I can play 24bit 48khz files, with the Devialet display showing 48khz. Moving on to 24bit 96khz files, these play fine, with the Devialets display showing 192khz. So far so good...

I've recently been busy auditioning turntables, so have some experience. I have some sympathy, if you want to audition every possible TT / arm / cart option, then you'll probably have got old and deaf before you finish! What sort of budget are you thinking of? And the question that never gets...

I am trying to run my "250" with 24bit files. I am trying JRiver, I have set up on a Windows 8 PC using WASAPI to run the Devialet amp / DAC. Everything is working fine, sounds ok but I am "only" getting 48khz on the Devialets display. Plus the "Audio Path" in Jriver is also showing 48khz...

Let let the Reference catch and pass the Blades....... Then we might get some even better Blades.......

Do you have any experience of NAS software? I quite like setting up laylists etc., and ipad control would be a must have to get me to ditch just using a PC.

Matt - Yes I need to start investigating all this NAS stuff, I think it looks like the way to go. However, I have been having a few (non hi fi related) problems with my PC this morning, so buying more PC type kit is something I'd best not think about at this exact point in time! Cno - You bet...

I was at the Bristol show yesterday and had a chat with the guy in the Devialet room. His experience is that using a Devialet via eathernet with the AIR software gives results that are virtually identical to using a high end streamer or HD storage device, such a Naim NDX or similar. So this...

Point taken Matt! Although I am still debating what to use as the front end for the Dev on the digital side. I am currently streaming from a PC using hard wired ethernet. The results are superb. However, would it be better with a Naim HDX or similar? Or is that just a good way of wasting...

Thanks guys - some good tips there. I suspect the Devialet 240 will be just about as good as anything for the money, however, I have been supprised so many times in this hi fi game that you just have to listen to the alternaives to be sure. The saga continues.
