Opinions on Rogers Studio 1, Please?

I was a bit harsh. They grew on me over the years. Im not replacing them any time soon, pp. I've still got my home theatre set up, that'll take up the music duties for the foreseeable. I see you've shifted the cdp. How come?

Opinions on Rogers Studio 1, Please?

Hey, nah I still love music but I don't have the time to have monster listening sessions like I used to. And I'm expanding my business and need a cash injection, so the hifi had to go. Is a shame though. I'll definitely miss the Rogers when they're gone.

Recommended AV Receiver for my Home Cinema

Have a look at a second hand Sony 5400ES. massive sounding amp, great with music too. It's got all the bells and whistles apart from Atmos. I picked mine up a couple of years ago for 400 quid.

Opinions on Rogers Studio 1, Please?

Well, it's been a good old while since I've been on here! It's the end of an era, the hifi is being sold off. The Gyrodec, Rotel RCD-991 and Exposure amps have gone. Last to go are the lovely Rogers. They are on eBay right now. Be a sad day when I post them off to their new owners!

    New Toy

Hey all, Ive just taken delivery of a HTPC, that i'd had a local company custom build for me. I got it because after my Boxee Box died, last year, I discovered XBMC and loved the beauty of it. Problem was I couldnt get it to run smoothly when playing full fat, HD films with HD audio...

Which is more important - the AV receiver, or the speakers?

I'm sure the Yammie and Q's will sound great. The speakers defo look the part. The missus will have nothing to complain about with those. Just don't bid too much on the Yammie. If it goes too high, give it a miss, there'll always be another one to bid on. Good luck, matey

Thanks for your input. That's definitely food for thought and something that hadn't occurred to me. I quite like it :-)

    New av receiver help.....

I've only ever had Sony amps, and I've had people in the past say they're not a patch on some of the other brands. I've been bullish and dismissed them, but recently I've started to think 'what if they're right? Am I missing a trick by sticking with Sony?'. Hence the upcoming change to either...

    New av receiver help.....

OK, my cogs are still turning here. Bare with me! Is there any sense in this as an upgrade path? Getting a Yamaha 3030, then getting the Yamaha CX-A5000 preamp, when funds allow, and use the 3030 as a power amp?

Which is more important - the AV receiver, or the speakers?

For me, with your budget, I'd get a Sony STR-DA1200ES, second hand. I got one a couple of years ago, for £70 from EBay, and it genuinely was brilliant with movies AND music. The caveat is that is doesn't decode HD audio (the reason I eventually moved on from it). if that doesn't matter to...

    AV Furniture disappointing!

I had the same trouble when I was doing my cinema room a couple years back, then I found Gecko's Reflect range. Brilliant units. Their modular, so, if like me, their 1100mm unit isn't enough for you, you can buy one of their smaller units (500mm, I think) and bolt it on the end. piano...

Need a new chair for home cinema room

At the other end of the spectrum, I've found a La-Z-Boy knock off, from a reputable seller on the Bay for 200 quid. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/221584459814?nav=SEARCH&varId=520447882973
