Probably depends how much you want to spend on a DAC as there are some crazy DACs on the market that cost ££££ and a bit more .

Your better of Listening to them both but its not just the DAC its also what your amplifier & speakers add in the mix to the over all sound . Its a choice you have to make yourself afraid and trust your own ears and forget what magazines say or the internet sound is a personal choice .

I agree with the other members try the Phono first in your amplifier not all Phono stages built in Amplifiers are rubbish i have a really good one in my Yamaha A-S3000

I wouldn't bother putting a power amplifier with your Yamaha A-S2000 or is it a A-S2100 its not going to make much of a difference . But what Yamaha normally say the current flagship C-5000 Pre -Amp & power Amp they will use 2 Yamaha C-5000 Power Amps in bridge mode with the Pre Amp but...

What ever you decide you can buy speaker brackets that you put up on the wall which would keep little fingers out of the speakers . as i did this myself with Dali Zensor 3s years ago when my daughter was young
