    NAD D 3020 Amplifer

Missing the point methinks. It is not only who owns a company but also where the designing is done and who influences that...now Rotel has a much more non-Japanese influence...methinks

Rotel RDD-06 DAC, where it is gone?

In terms of "maybe, but i cant see any 11 or 12 series dac as well..as far as i can tell there are no replacement models of rotel dac"...you won't as the 11 & 12 Series both feature a built in Wolfson DAC

    RA-11 and Q2050i - enough grunt?

Be aware...have demo'd both and IMHO the RA-10 & RA-11 are different beasts...both very 'Rotel' but the RA-10 is more 'musical' than the RA-11. As I prefer a more 'clinical' sound I prefer the RA-11. You really need to listen to both (as well as any other contender) before making a choice...

Rotel RA-1570 & Audio Analogue Fortissimo

There was a review of the RA-1570 (with the RCD-1570) in a rival publication last month...if that is of any help? :shhh:

    New system question

Hi SG Agreed too re. what you say about the Tannoys...I auditioned a pair of Revolution DC6 (also a concentric design...so a really great sound stage presentation IMHO) but rear ported and given placement constraints that I had that is what put me off them...even when bunged...but in the right...

    New system question

Spot on SG...I have an RA-11 and found that the Q300s matched best (to my ears) when I auditioned a number of speakers...but as you say, very wisely, it is all down to the ear of the beholder...auditioning is a MUST.

Rotel RCD 1520 or Audiolab 8200CD?

Rotel should be a good match for what you already have...for obvious reasons...but the 8200CD is apparently a tremendous piece of kit. You really need to audition both.

CA 651C and Marantz CD6004 go head to head...

Whilst you are there I would also listen to the CA 351C. It got a better review that its bigger brother (better in all the right areas...IMHO) and is currently £50 off normal price at Richer. I am thinking of a new CDP and the CA 351C is definitively in my sights as a possible.

    System for a kitchen

One of the Onkyo all-in-one units may be worth a look: Onkyo CR-N755 Onkyo DR-815 Onkyo CS-515UK (with spkrs) All sound good...and there is a spread of prices depending on your budget.

    Best speaker for Rotel receiver

Hi have a Rotel RT-11 DABFM tuner feeding a Rotel RA-11amplifier, which plays through KEF Q300...and the sound to my ears is excellent. Not specifically what youare asking advice on but (i) I am assumming your receiver has the characteristic Rotel sound & (ii) I had the B&W 685s as one of the...

    BI-WIRE Doubt [ROTEL RA-12 + KEF Q300]

I think that it is all in the ears as I personally have no need to tinker with the bass or treble settings on the RA-11, and as for it on low volume levels it is extremely detailed and accurate with a great sound stage, especially through the Q300s. Music to my ears. Just goes to show that one...

    BI-WIRE Doubt [ROTEL RA-12 + KEF Q300]

Not sure what is meant by 'dry' and 'juicy'. I would characterise the sound as 'detailed & accurate' and therefore what some might call 'bright'.

Amp and dac for wharfedale 121

Or why not the RA-11 (onboard Wolfson DAC) and in my humble opinion it sounds as good as the RA-10...I auditioned both sde by side before I purchased (but then again I was using my ears and not yours  ). Just a thought in case it helps?

    completely puzzled !!!

Glad to see that you have come to some conclusion regarding your conundrum. Hopefully that is the right choice...for you. I could answer your question on tone controls (having een one who had to have them and now am quite happy to keep them switched off, etc.) but I won't...for fear of...

    completely puzzled !!!

Hi lpv I have to diagree with you in terms of what you say about the Rotel 'sound'...yes, more clinical but I would not say either 'really clinical' or 'lots of mid tones and lack of bass'. I am running the same setup as you had and find the whole ensemble very nicely balanced...just the right...
