Sound base with HDMI in and out?

If your TV has a central stand (or its feet are less than 70cm apart) then Sony does a range of sound bases which may be suitable.

    4K Blu-ray Prices

CDWow (and other companies) were able to offer lower prices (when shipping products from the channel islands) due to a tax loophole that allowed them to not pay VAT on products shipped to the UK mainland on low cost products. This loophole has been closed so I expect that we won't see similar...

Is there anything special required in a BDP to play Atmos BDs?

As far a I can tell you don't need a Dolby Atmos specific blu-ray player, just a suitable AV amplifier able to decode the signal. There is a guide to Dolby Atmos at http://www.whathifi.com/advice/dolby-atmos-what-it-how-can-you-get-it .

    External Mac compatible blu-ray drive

Some of the external blu-ray drives may include OEM software which will provide play back but it usually only works on Windows. If you wan't to watch blu-ray's on your Mac then it might be worth considering a dedicated blu-ray player which will do the decoding for you and send the final...

    Amazon fire stick

My Sony 4K TV has the Amazon (Prime) Video app which will allow 4K viewing and I believe the PS4 pro offers the same. My blu-ray player also has Amazon video (though not 4K) so it's not exclusive to the Amazon Fire boxes/sticks (in the UK at least).

    External Mac compatible blu-ray drive

http://www.macworld.com/article/2042431/watch-and-rip-blu-ray-movies-on-your-mac.html The link above covers how to watch blu-ray on a Mac with an external drive. Any restriction on viewing in 3D is most likely to be on the software side. The Power DVD software I use for Windows blu-ray play...

Of all the 1080p Blu-Ray Players....

As a buy it at Currys option I'd suggest the Sony BDP S7200 which plays all BD apart from 4K/HDR, has Hi-res music support including SACD and it offers 4K upscaling if you want to use it. If you may be buying a 4K capable BD player in the next few years then I can't see much benefit from buying...

New magazine format likes & dislikes

The buyers guide has changed from a very useful to a nearly useless guide in my opinion, especially concerning the "The only products worth considering" strapline. For example, if you want an under 5" size phone which also plays high res music files is the iPhone 6s really the only option if...

sky ordered to cut wholesale prices .....

Alantiggger: maxflinn is quite right i'd say It's quite different from 'what car you buy' ... the football is entertainment which is watched by millions and as such should be available to everyone and not to just 'who' can afford £20.00 a month. That sum might not seem so great but to...

Sky Player in Windows Media Center

Excellent link, I'll give it a go. I have to admit my solution was to use BBC iPlayer on my PS3 as it was less hassle than using the PC.

No satellite signal received Sky HD.

I had the same message when I switched my (Thomson) Sky HD box on this evening. The usual unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in and wait for 30 seconds seems to have cured the problem, at least until Sky mess it up again.
