From this forum and further investigation it's apparent the Cyrus 6 CD players are notorious for this issue. I have three options, one of which I need to choose: send back and get another make, get the 6 upgraded by Cyrus, but a new Cyrus.

Was that the laser replacement with upgrade, that Cyrus offer, or just the laser? I can see a theme developing here, not an unknown problem.
