I used Philips nas driver, Laciea Driver. I do not think any big difference, if you place the nas in a different room. But if you place the nas in your listening room it must be quiet. I think this has to be the main and the only consideration.

I listened so many tables before changing my Project RPM 9.1. I demoed VPI, Clear Audio, Transotor etc. At the end Projet Xtension seemed to me like a bargain for that price. I am using with Project arm+Ortofon Kontrapunkt B. I can easily say that it can be competitive at any price.

I did not hear the caspian, but I demoed Bryston. You described your needs very well, and Ithink Bryston has it all, and why you are not consider Plinius CD player. I demoed 102 I think and it was very good.

With your beatiful setup, IMO Pirmare R-20 or Project Tube Box would be a great.

I think you will not have any compatibility problems. But again IMHO onkyo 875 will be better then 100(ish) pre-amps. You are using a decent avr(I have 876 by the way).

My dealer sells only Pro-ject turntables. Of course I may consider other very good brands like VPI, but as I said my dealer offered me a good deal to change my RPM9 to Xtension. So any ideas...

Yes it is possible. You have to use anlogue interconnects from pre to 875 pre-outs. It depends on the cartridge you are using I think. As far as I know as a 876 owner, 876 supports only MM cartridges. If your cartridge is a good MM or you are planning to use MC one(you shoud buy a phono stage)...

I am already owner of a Pro-ject RPM 9 with a Ortofon Kontrapunt B cartrdige. My dealer offer me a good deal changing my RPM 9 to Xtension. I will use my Kontrapunt with Xtension if I buy it. By any chance someone used or demoed both of them. Is it really worth to upgrade Xtension.
