I'm looking to buy a new TV for an extension that I've just built. In my lounge at the moment I have a 50in Panasonic plasma which I've had for about 5 years, I will leave this there and get a new one for the extension. I'm currently looking at a 55in or 65in Samsung 7000 or stretching my budget...

Can I ask who the retailer is? The one I'm dealing with even said they could get a 9664 as a replacement (I think it must have been a refurbished one), so taking the 9705 sounded like the better deal. And on what basis did you turn down the 9705. Thanks,

Hi there, has your replacement come direct from Philips or the retailer, I have had a problem with my 9664 and is going to be replaced by the 9705 by the retailer. I tried to get the 9706 but they wouldn't go for it.

I am happy with mine, apart from when I'm watching something like cricket or football, when the camera pans across the pitch there are a few dark vertical lines and some other small dark areas. The rest of the time it's fine and are not visible but it has become quite obvious when watching football.

Hi, I have a similar problem with my 9664 and just wondered what you ended up with as a replacement and if you are happy with it? I have also been offered the 9705, but would prefer the 9706, but may try to get the Panasonic TXP50VT30.

Having finally decided on which model TV to get I now have the dilemma over which size, I will normally be sitting between 9--12 ft away and am upgrading from 37", I'm just concerned that a 10" increase may be too much. Any thoughts?

Hi there, I was looking at the Philips 47PFL7404, have you watched much sport on it or do any gaming on it? I have looked at many TV's such as the Samsung leds, which don't quite seem right and are expensive, and Panasonic 42" V10 which I'm not 100% convinced on and really want bigger than 42...
